For us, here in Brisbane, this year has felt like the longest, wettest, summer/autumn ever, so I’m so excited to finally feel the cool, dry chill of winter in the air. But, I’m not ready to give up my favourite Avarcas and summer wardrobe pieces just yet, so I thought I’d share with you some of my top tips for taking your favourites from warmer months into the cooler weather.

Let’s talk about these five favourite summer trends:

  1. Bright colour
  2. Boho dresses
  3. Denim overalls
  4. Monochrome basics
  5. Pleated skirts

Are any of these trends on your favourites list, too?

Here’s how I style them for winter, paired back with my favourite Avarcas, too.

Bright colour – try colour blocking and pair with your favourite glitter Avarcas

It’s so much fun to wear colour in winter. If you’re new to embracing colour, try a bright colour pop knit to pair back with jeans. An easy colour to start with is blue or pink, everyone can find a shade to suit them. If you’re an old hand at brights, why not pair your favourite knit with a contrasting colour pants or jeans? Perfect with glitter Avarcas.

Boho dresses – add texture, a felt hat and pair with tan Avarcas

A really easy way to wear your boho dresses in winter is to layer them up. Denim jackets, faux fur gilets or teddy coats are all amazing with boho dresses; even a fab leather jacket works well to toughen the look. Adding a felt fedora is the icing on the cake. (With the added bonus of adding warmth.)

Denim overalls – pair with a chunky knit and metallic Avarcas

I love the return of the overall, however this look could just as easily work with denim jeans, too; if overalls are not your thing. Pair them with a chunky knit in your favourite neutral and you have a perfect outfit for a casual day. Add interest with metallic or your favoruite animal print Avarcas.

Monochrome basics – pair with a checked blazer and black Avarcas

I’ve loved seeing the return of a good checked blazer – it dresses up any casual outfit. I’ve worn one with black joggers and a white tee for a smart casual look. Perhaps a perfect Friday look for the office or working from home! Pair with classic black Avarcas for a polished take on flats.

Pleated skirts – pair with a rolled sleeve knit, crossbody bag and metallic Avarcas

Pleated skirts are my favourite way to play into a feminine silhouette. They work with a tee or tank in summer, but perfectly well with a knit in cooler months, too. Pick up on the tones in your snake or metallic Avarcas and wear with pinks, whites and greys.
