Nothing screams spring like fresh blooms, floaty frocks and….fresh Avarcas. The time has come to dust off your much-loved, albeit hibernating, footwear of choice. Prepare them to work hard during the warmer weather because they’ll be your go-to this season.

Caring for your Avarcas is easy and I’m going to show you how. No matter how many pairs you own or the leather you favour, I’ve got simple tips to make them feel fresh again. I’m assuming you treated your Avarcas to a liberal spray of water & stain protectant prior to wearing (unless you’ve got glitters, don’t spray those!) but if you haven’t, you’ve officially broken my heart.

Each pair is handmade using the finest leather in Menorca, Spain. They are made using traditional Spanish craftsmanship that dates back centuries. You’ll notice they have been authenticated with the official  ‘Avarca De Menorca’ guarantee. They aren’t shoes you can just pick up at Westfield, they are history and art all at once.

Please give your Avarcas the proper treatment pre, during and post-wear to keep them looking beautiful.

Nubuck Leather Avarcas Care

Nubuck leather is created by buffing grain/smooth leather with abrasive action for a velvety finish.

Buttery soft and beautifully textured, you can reinvigorate your Nubuck Avarcas with a variety of tools and techniques. Remove scuff marks with a Seude/Nubuck Brush and a Suede/Nubuck Shampoo.

Brush Them

If using a brush, use the nylon bristle to clean the nubuck leather using long single-direction strokes. If you’ve got a stubborn mark, use short multi-directional strokes to buff the leather back to glory.

Shampoo Them

Once you’ve cleaned off all surface dirt and dust, apply nubuck shampoo to the leather and brush along the grain and against the grain using your brush. Let them dry and buff the leather back (with the brush again!).

Protect Them

Now that your Avarcas are shiny and fresh, use a Nubuck Leather protector to keep them that way. This will prevent water and dirt from penetrating the leather which can stain.

Metallic Leather Avarcas Care

Our metallic leather is created by bonding metallic foil to the leather.

So shiny and so pretty, the metallic foil can be delicate. If the foil is scratched, the leather underneath will poke through. This cannot be re-foiled or polished to cover deep scratches so pre and post-wear care are crucial.

Clean Them

Grab a dry microfibre cloth and wipe away all dirt and dust then repeat the process with a wet cloth. Allow them to dry.

Protect Them

Now that your Avarcas are shiny and fresh, use a Leather protector (for metallics) to keep them that way. This will prevent water and dirt from penetrating the leather.
