WHAT SORT OF STORE IS BELLA BOO'TIQUE?
Bella Boo’tique is a clothing, shoes, jewellery and homewares store located in beautiful Highfields , just outside of Toowoomba in Queensland.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START YOUR BUSINESS?
I had been off work for a number of years raising my family and once my youngest daughter started kindy, I realised I did not want to go back to my ‘corporate’ job that I held pre children. My mum had recently sold her business and was not enjoying retirement, so we jumped at the opportunity to work together and bring both of our passions and experience together to create Bella Boo’tique.
HOW LONG HAS THE BUSINESS BEEN OPEN FOR?
We have been operating for 3.5 years. In the past 6 months we have moved to a new location and have doubled in size, we absolutely adore our new space at the beautiful Village Green in Highfields. It is a beautiful place to come to work everyday.
WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS?
I love the different people that we come across each day. I love that our shop is a happy place for people to come in and see a friendly face, look at some beautiful clothing and accessories and maybe spoil themselves or someone they love. We try to cater for all types of people and keep prices affordable and have different items that you can not find everywhere else. Every item in our store is handpicked by myself or mum, and if we don’t love it, we don’t buy it. We hope our customers can feel our passion for our store as they walk through the doors.
HOW DOES A TYPICAL DAY FOR YOU UNFOLD?
Like most small business owners, no day is the same. I do not get to be in store as often as I would like, as I also have a 2 year old son. If I am not working in store, after the morning juggle of school drop off. I usually check in with the girls in store, work on the plan for the day and then it is usually home to order new stock, update website, check on internet orders, upload photos and images and attend to social media, meetings with reps etc. Then off to do school pick up and after school activities. Once the kids are in bed, it is time to attend to anything I did not get done throughout the day.
WHAT LITTLE THING IN LIFE GIVES YOU JOY?
Coffee, spending time with my beautiful family, travelling and of course our beautiful store.
HOW DO YOU RECHARGE YOUR BATTERIES?
Spending time with my family, with no schedule and no plans.
WHAT PROMPTED YOU TO PUT AVARCAS AUSTRALIA ON YOUR SHELVES?
I love the shoes, and owned a few pairs before we opened the store. I wanted to bring them in store so that people could try them on and see them in person. They are the most versatile shoe and so comfortable.
WHAT ARE YOUR FAVOURITE AVARCAS?
Hands down neon pink, they were my first purchase and still my most favourite.
